About Brooke
Brooke (she/her) is a freshman in high school from the Miami Metropolitan area. Writing and film are some e of her greatest interests that she also hopes to pursue later in life.
Brooke finds that to truly understand a topic like politics, it must be seen from all perspectives. As writing director, she aims to showcase perspectives. As writing director, she aims to showcase perspectives that are not often represented in politics and wants to display the forms of media that contribute to enriching our world's political sphere.
Outside Empolitics, Brooke pursues Speech and Debate, volunteering, and creative writing. when she has time for leisurely activities, she can be found listening to The Smiths or Animal Crossing
Who do you look up to and why?
What do you want to do career-wise in the future?
What's one fun fact about yourself?
I look up Rupi Kaur, a modern poet. I strongly admire the subjects she writes about and the way in which she has put raw and genuine energy into her words. I feel that fear is usually what stops writers from following sad and harrowing topics. In Kaur's work, readers get the sense that she isn't afraid to write what's in her heart. I hope to have that strength in my work as well.
In the future, I'd love to be in film production or screenwriting. Film has always been a large part of my life and as I grew older I discovered that cinematography is a beautiful way of capturing a story's essence. Through film, I can tell a story with an end result that I'm proud of.
Though I rarely travel internationally, I have many destinations that I would like to visit someday. Singapore, Taiwan, and The Netherlands are just a few of the alluring places that draw my attention.
